Workout Recap - Week of December 27, 2020
I didn't aim to do anything fancy to cap off the year. Just finishing on pace was good enough, in my eyes. 2020 was certainly a trying year, and while that will continue into 2021, I think there's reason to be optimistic about turning things around and getting back on track this year, both on a personal level and on societal/global level.
Monday
Type: As Fast As Possible
3 sets of:
21/15/9 Plyometric Lunges (each side)
21/15/9 Diamond Push Ups
21/5/9 Straight Leg Raises
Time = 4:30
Bonus: none
This was an improvement over how I did last week. That's always a good sign.
Wednesday
Type: Pass/Fail
Close Pull Ups - 3 sets of 6 (pass)
Shoulder-width Handstand Push Ups - 3 sets of 6 (pass)
Bonus: none
Keeping apace with these movements. I feeling like I can start pushing myself further with both of them, though.
Friday
Type: Pass/Fail
Closing Bridges - 3 sets of 4 (pass)
Hanging Straight Leg Raises - 3 sets of 7 (pass)
Bonus: 15 breath isometric flex hang
Making progress with both of these feels good. My second set of bridges, in particular, was strong. I'm still falling during the final bit of the movement, but I'm able to go deeper into the bend with more control than I've ever been able to do before.
Saturday
Type: As Fast As Possible
3 sets of:
21/15/9 Plyometric Lunges (each side)
21/15/9 Diamond Push Ups
21/5/9 Straight Leg Raises
Time = 4:15
Bonus: 20 breath isometric flex hang
It feels great to see improvements against a clock again. I should look for more diversity in my timed workouts, but for the moment, kicking off the new year with a win is pretty great.
