Workout Recap - Week of February 28, 2021
Seeing as last week was all pass/fail workouts, it only makes sense that this week would be all timed workouts. I tried to step up the difficulty of them, too, compared to most of the timed workouts I'd been doing for the last few weeks. In the end, I'm happy with both what I set and how I did.
Sunday
Type: As Fast As Possible
8 sets of:
5 Pull Ups
10 Push Ups
15 Prisoner Squats
Time = 10:15
Bonus: 4 chin ups
Didn't feel quite ready to go back up to ten sets for this routine, but even just this much was more than I'd done in recent memory. The performance wasn't up to what I'd been capable of doing in the past, but I know that potential is still in me. It's just a matter of striving on until I reawaken it, and hopefully surpass it in time.
Tuesday
Type: As Fast As Possible
5 sets of:
5 Handstand Push Ups
10 Bridges
15 Cross-body Mountain Climbers (each side)
Time = 7:30
Bonus: 7 chin ups
This was a grinder for my shoulders, back, and waist. My hamstrings were experiencing some DOMS from the previous workout, too, which didn't help matters. Pushing through it left me feeling better, though, so it's all good.
Wednesday
Type: As Fast As Possible
3 sets of:
10 Burpees
20 Mountain Climbers (each side)
10 Pull Ups
30 High Knees (each side)
Time = 7:45
Bonus: 4 handstand push ups
I need to work on more volume of burpees and pull ups if I want to get back to pounding out weekend challenge workouts, ergo this routine. I probably could've done another set to burn out more of my reserves, but this was plenty hard enough in the moment.
Friday
Type: As Fast As Possible
5 sets of:
5 Burpees
15 Side Lunges (each side)
30 Mountain Climbers (each side)
Time = 7:00
Bonus: 25 breath isometric dead hang
This was a routine I did a couple of weeks ago. Improving the completion time by almost a whole minute was very encouraging.
Saturday
Type: As Fast As Possible
7 sets of:
7 Pull Ups
7 Bridges
Time = 6:15
Bonus: 1 pull up, 1 bridge
There was no way to getting back to doing my old weekend challenges short of throwing myself into them again eventually, so I gave it a shot. Not quite the best completion time I've ever had (5:45 PR), but this was honestly better than I thought I'd do. Very cool!
