ABOUT ASH ADLER

combi-cover.png

I'm a guy originally from the United States and living now in Canada who got tired of the deception, misinformation, and outright lies that are so common in the world.  This site is meant to be a haven from all that.  I'll talk about all sorts of things, but at the root of it all, my interest is in presenting what I believe to be simple honesty.  My reviews are all based on my heartfelt opinions, my recipes are exactly what I cook for myself, my thoughts and ideas about tabletop gaming are based on my own experiences, and whatever else I might put up follows the same general principle.

When it comes to video games, unless noted otherwise, I'm only considering them from a single-player perspective.  Nothing against multiplayer content, but I've tried it plenty of times over the years, and it's just not for me.  I tend to favor RPGs and action games, but I'm open to other genres, as long as they seem interesting.

When it comes to food, I don't eat grains.  I'm not saying that nobody should eat grains, but for myself, it made a big improvement in my quality of life to cut them out.  The whole reason why I got interested in cooking is because grains (particularly wheat) are so common in ready-made food.  Along the way, I also just cut cooking oils aside from olive, coconut, avocado, and animal fat, but that's just good sense, given how awful stuff like canola oil is known to be.

When it comes to TTRPGs, my experience is primarily with Dungeons & Dragons, and my tastes are very much in the old school mold of being light with the rules and seeing combat as an unbalanced affair.  I'm open to other systems and other styles, but that's where my heart is.

I'm also an independent self-published fantasy novelist.  You can check out my books at these links:

You might've noticed a lack of personal social media links.  That's because I don't use any of that stuff.  More power to you if you do, but it's just not for me.  However, if you want to get in touch with me, feel free to use the message form on the contact page.  Preferred pronouns: they/them

I hope you enjoy your time here.  Have a great day!
