Workout Recap - Week of October 18, 2020

October 25, 2020

Where did this weekend go?  It felt like it went by in a flash, and I didn't even have time to do a workout today.  I know I did a lot, but at the same time, I'd be pressed to name much in the way of specific achievements.  Alas, but I suppose it's a fitting cap to a week that was busy enough for me to skip doing any workout bonuses despite only doing four workouts.

Side note: A bit slow on the uptake, but I just realized that I never published my recap from two weeks ago.  That's fixed now.

Monday

Type: Pass/Fail

Pistol Squats - 1 set of 8, each side (pass)

Diamond Push Ups - 1 set of 15 (pass)

Closing Bridges - 1 set of 4 (pass)

Bonus: none

It might just be a psychological trick, but it seems like having better hip alignment is helping me get deeper into closing bridges before gravity takes over.  I don't think that was the only thing holding me back from doing stand-to-stand bridges fully freely, but it might end up being a significant step towards achieving that goal.

Tuesday

Type: As Fast As Possible

6 sets of:

6 Burpees

6 Bridges

Time = 5:45

Bonus: none

Trying to push myself back up towards the old seven-set challenges.  My stamina feels sufficient to take that step, so it's more a matter on the mental side.

Friday

Type: Pass/Fail

Close Pull Ups - 1 set of 8 (pass)

Shoulder-width Handstand Push Ups - 1 set of 9 (pass)

Hanging Straight Leg Raises - 1 set of 6 (pass)

Bonus: none

I felt pretty solid about stepping back up to hanging straight leg raises.  Resuming those did give a nice boost to my confidence.

Saturday

Type: Pass/Fail

Pistol Squats - 1 set of 8, each side (pass)

Diamond Push Ups - 1 set of 16 (pass)

Closing Bridges - 1 set of 4 (pass)

Bonus: none

I could've gone harder on the diamond push ups, but as I've said a few times, given the current public health situation, I'd prefer to err on the side of caution than end up needing a doctor.  It's not that I'm particularly worried about potential exposure to SARS-CoV-2 but rather than I don't want to put more burden on those resources than they're experiencing already.
