Catching up, part two.

Monday

Muay Thai class + Boxing class

The guest kru ran this class about progressively building up a sequence involving feints. It was a good thing to practice, even if the drills were scripted to a point where I feel like they weren't giving full potential value, but that's honestly a nitpick. The boxing class focused on quick entry and exiting with an offensive burst in between. It seemed like the more practical of the two classes to me.

Tuesday

Muay Thai class + Boxing class

The first class was a basics review to help along a newbie that I was partnered with. It was fine, if nothing remarkable. The boxing class worked on defenses, reactions, and head movement. Those are all things that I want to improve at, so it was all good stuff.

Wednesday

Muay Thai class + Boxing class

The guest kru was teaching this back-and-forth head-to-head defense class, and I even somehow ended up partnered with one of the competitive fighters who has a match coming up fairly soon (thus we had an implicit license to dial up the intensity). That's all stuff that I like, and it was a good session overall. The boxing class worked on reviewing stuff from the previous day, though more in shadow rather than partnered drills. Again, it's all stuff I want to improve at, so I was happy with it.

Thursday

Muay Thai class + Boxing class

The first class was built around fighter prep with defense into countering, with some spinning backfist stuff splashed in for a bit of fun flavor. It was a nice mix of practical and maybe not-so-practical. The boxing class continued working on head movement, this time while attacking. That's something I like improvising often on my own when I've got a good handle on a drill already, so it was neat to make it a focal point for a whole class.
