I tried to take things a little easy this week to let my leg heal. I didn't entirely succeed at that, since it can be hard to hold back when I have a chance to smash, but I tried.
Monday
Muay Thai class
This was a stamina grind day, starting with high volume punches into multiple kicks and then transitioning into just multiple kicks later on. I made a conscious effort to not go all out, since I was freshly over limping through the weekend from a calf strain, but I was still knocking my partner around with my strikes, so that was probably fine. Sometimes, it's enough to just survive, anyway.
Tuesday
Muay Thai class
This was a bit of a fancier day, with some drills to work on superman punches, though still with a lot of good fundamental review work around that. I tried to help the newbies around me as much as I could, but superman punches are enough of a niche thing that I still feel shaky at them myself, so I didn't want to overstep and feign expertise that I didn't actually have.
Wednesday
Muay Thai class
This was a kick-focused day, with lots of different kicks to different targets. Fittingly enough, the session wrapped up with some high-volume round kicks. It was a fine enough class.
Thursday
Muay Thai class
I had an odd start to this class, as the kru moved me around between a few different partner to try balancing out groups due to low overall attendance and some people coming in late. Aside from that, though, the drills were mostly a light mix of knee and elbow strikes fit around punches and kicks, so that's all good with me. My calf did get a bit irritated towards the end, so it's clearly not fully recovered yet, but I'd expect it should be fine by next week's end at latest, assuming no set-backs.
