Workout Recap - Week of February 20, 2022

Continuing to work towards restoring my previous peak fitness level, and I'm feeling some good vibes about how that's going. I haven't had any huge leaps in performance to close the gaps, but I'm getting more comfortable with the overall workload and am looking forward to getting back to my old challenge workouts without feeling too bad about the results.

Monday

Type: Pass/Fail

Uneven Pull Ups - 2 sets of 5, each side (pass)

Stand-to-stand Bridges, one wall touch on the way up - 2 sets of 4 (pass)

Isometric L-hang - 2 sets of 13 breaths (pass)

Bonus: none

Steady progress, and I expect to be pushing harder on the bridges soon, too. Exciting stuff!

Tuesday

Type: Pass/Fail

Close Handstand Push Ups - 2 sets of 12 (pass)

Shrimp Squats, both hands behind me - 2 sets of 10, each side (pass)

Isometric L-hang - 2 sets of 13 breaths (pass)

Bonus: none

My waist was feeling a little bit of DOMS from the previous workout, so I didn't want to work it too hard with one-armed push ups. I'm happy with that decision.

Thursday

Type: As Fast As Possible

3 sets of:

21/15/9 Plyometric Lunges (each side)

21/15/9 Push Ups

21/15/9 Straight Leg Raises

Time = 4:00

Bonus: 7 pull ups

Progress with this result, compared to last week. I'm happy enough with that that I'm feeling ready to branch out to other workout routines in between getting my feet back under me with the challenge workouts.

Friday

Type: As Fast As Possible

6 sets of:

6 Pull Ups

6 Bridges

Time = 5:30

Bonus: 2 pull ups, 2 bridges

Looking over my performance in immediate retrospect, I think I'm not doing enough bridges to give me time to recover for more pull ups. I ought to test that theory soon.

Saturday

Type: As Fast As Possible

3 sets of:

21/15/9 Chin Ups

21/15/9 Plyometric Lunges (each side)

21/15/9 Straight Leg Raises

Time = 6:30

Bonus: 5 burpees

I'm rather pleased with how this went, honestly. While it could've been better; I ended up doing three mini-sets for each round of chin ups; I'm sure improvements will come with more time.
