Workout Recap - Week of December 19, 2021
It seems like my mental fragility of late was largely a precursor to a spell of depression. On a rational level, I'm sure I'll recover. On an emotional level, it sucks. Monday Type: Pass/Fail Uneven Pull Ups - 1 set of 8, each side (pass) Stand-to-stand Bridges, one wall touch on the way up - 1 set of 8, each side (pass) Archer Push Ups - 1 set of 23, each side (pass) Bonus: none Mostly holding steady, I guess. I haven't felt up to pushing harder. Tuesday Type: Pass/Fail U
Magic Items Inspired by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Compilation PDF
Here is the PDF with all of the six 20-item lists, plus extras: link In total, it has 174 magic items. I will update this once I have seen the rest of Stone Ocean, but until then, enjoy this collection of untested, bizarre magic items created by a person who tends to be less worried about giving players items that are "too powerful" than most other GMs they speak with.

Magic Items Inspired by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean
Since I haven't read the manga, I don't have enough knowledge to form a meaningful opinion on Stone Ocean yet, but what I've seen of it so far has me tentatively placing it as my third-favorite part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. More relevantly, the fact that only 12 episodes have been released to date means that I wasn't able to come up with 20 items. Rather than pushing myself to stretch for ideas to hit that number, I decided to make up the difference with some extras fro
Workout Recap - Week of December 12, 2021
I fit in five workouts again this week, though as with the last one, the degree of difficulty ended up being scaled back. A large part of that was frustration over my timing error on Tuesday spilling over to mess up the rest of them. I shouldn't have let it get to me, but it did. Monday Type: As Fast As Possible 3 sets of: 11/8/5 Burpees 21/15/9 Diamond Push Ups 21/15/9 Mountain Climbers (each side) Time = 6:45 Bonus: 6 hammer pull ups A return to some timed burpees, and I'

Magic Items Inspired by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind
While there are shortcomings of execution in Stardust Crusaders that keep it at the bottom of my personal rankings, Golden Wind is only barely above it on my list of how much I liked each of the first five parts of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The whole part leaves me with a general sense of not caring much about what's happening because there's no clear motivation. I know some people have a similar reaction to Diamond is Unbreakable, but I felt there was a clear central tensi

Magic Items Inspired by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable
Coming on the heels of my least-liked part, Diamond is Unbreakable is my favorite part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. I think the slice-of-life style was nice change from the more epic plots of Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency and Stardust Crusaders, the scope of events felt more natural than Golden Wind (in particular, some enemies like Risotto or Cioccolata feel far too strong for their roles), Kira Yoshikage was a wonderful antagonist, Kishibe Rohan is among my favorite chara
Workout Recap - Week of December 5, 2021
Given my project on here of late, I feel like I've had JoJo's Bizarre Adventure coming out of every orifice this week. I still did five workouts despite that, though I can see in hindsight that the individual workout difficulty was scaled down. Room for progress. Monday Type: As Fast As Possible 3 sets of: 11/8/5 Pull Ups 21/15/9 Plyometric Lunges 21/15/9 Straight Leg Raises Time = 4:00 Bonus: 9 burpees A quick, simple, non-trivial workout that I think I handled reasonably

Magic Items Inspired by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders
Stardust Crusaders is the part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure that I like the least. I do still like it, to be fair, but the bloated length (nearly twice that of Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency combined, and about 25% longer than either Diamond is Unbreakable or Golden Wind), Mary Sue lead protagonist, and scattered instances of bad writing practices (unjustified Deus Ex Machina, inconsistent stupidity by both protagonists and antagonists, jarring Mood Whiplash when juxtaposi

Magic Items Inspired by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency
Between having a real story, a protagonist who is very powerful and yet so thoroughly outclassed by every major opponent he faces that he has to rely more on wits than strength, presenting antagonists that are not evil for banal or unambitious reasons, embracing some silly fun alongside moments of serious horror and emotion, and the simple over-the-top flamboyance of everyone involved, Battle Tendency is my second-favorite part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, coming up just shy
Workout Recap - Week of November 28, 2021
This was another time-crunched week, and I cut things back to four workouts in reaction. They erred towards the quick side, too. Not my proudest time, but there's naught to be done but to grow from it. Monday Type: As Fast As Possible 3 sets of: 21/15/9 Plyometric Lunges 21/15/9 Diamond Push Ups 21/15/9 Straight Leg Raises Time = 5:45 Bonus: 8 pull ups An old routine that I like for its balance of explosive and measured movements. The challenge to it is in minimizing the d
