I will get back to that Ironsworn campaign, but in the mean time, there is always Muay Thai.

Monday

Muay Thai class

This was a basics padwork class, to help some newbies come along. My mind was out of phase with reality, so my balance felt off, but at least I wasn't the person who fell on a round kick this time. Anyway, I pushed through the difficulties and made what I could of things.

Tuesday

Muay Thai class

This was another newbie-helper basics review day. One of the people I was partnered with had motor skill issues, so I got kicked a few times off of the pads, but between their poor form and my own toughness, it was no real issue. If anything, it was some impromptu extra impact conditioning. A good class overall that I was in better shape to engage with, compared to the previous day.

Wednesday

Muay Thai class

The guest kru ran a head-to-head back-and-forth defense class. As seems common when he leads these, it started out quite practical and got progressively more specialized/niche as the class went on. On the plus side, I was struggling enough with one of those niche things that the guest kru actually gave me some direct coaching again, which I think was the first time since the little dispute we had had back when he was micromanaging too much about my neutral guard (and failing to make good on demonstrating the supposed consequences of my alleged mistake when we'd spar). Speaking of which, the class finished things off with a few rounds of light sparring. I didn't have any specific goals in mind for that, so I just tried to approach each round with a different style, which seemed to work out well for both confirming some things I was confident about and also helping me pick up some things to focus on improving for the future.

Thursday

Muay Thai class

We did offense>defense>counter drills in padwork, with one of the competitive fighters leading the class so the main kru could focus on preparing for an upcoming event. I partnered with an aspiring fighter who I hadn't worked with much before, but they were willing to work and receptive to advice, so I had a good time with them. It was also nice that they were willing to accommodate some when we were working on countered after a head-level round kick, since the height difference between us made it difficult for me to get that high with good control. All in all, a good class to finish up the week.
