Trying to arrange things such that I can stay for double classes more often again, but that was not something that yielded results for this week.
Monday
Muay Thai class
This was a nine-spot drill station gauntlet rotation to start the week off hot. It felt like I did well through the first seven stations (plus a free bagwork bonus station), but I fell off a cliff for the last two. I managed to recover enough for some high-volume round kicks and calisthenics to finish off the class, but it was definitely pushing my stamina. Still, a good grind this day.
Tuesday
Muay Thai class
This was a head-to-head back-and-forth defense class, mostly working on blocking and returning round kicks. After a few rounds of practice with each leg, we did some mixing up what we returned with, to add in some reflex training as some extra spice. We finished up with some rounds of hybrid head-to-head and padwork, where my partner complimented me on my low kicks. That's always nice to hear, even if I'll never believe it entirely.
Wednesday
Muay Thai class
The guest kru had us practicing on close fighting this day, with knees and elbows. I always enjoy those strikes, so I was having a good time. We finished up with some clinch practice, too, which I also always enjoy, even if I seem to be nigh-alone in that feeling.
Thursday
Muay Thai class
This was a boxing class, doing various intermediate drills involving evasion and countering. We finished it up with some light sparring rounds, which was a good time. It was also nice to learn that one of the sparring partners I had learned a lot from in the past is supposed to take over teaching the boxing classes soon, hopefully for longer than the brief periods that similar previous efforts have lasted.
