Roughly on time with this one, at least.

Monday

Muay Thai class

This class worked on some less common follow-ups to boxing openers, going into either elbow strikes or front kicks. It was also nice as a subtle way of training different range adjustments after initiating. I had a good time with it.

Tuesday

Muay Thai class

This class started out with some light freestyle back-and-forth. Some people decided to interpret that as light sparring, which caused me some confusion when they didn't actually communicate that before the starts of the rounds they did with me. It wasn't really a problem, since I try to always be ready for partners going off-script or trying to hit me without warning, but it was a minor annoyance. In any case, we went into back-and-forth defense drills after that, presumably based on what the kru thought people needed to work on the most. Finally, we finished up with some basic clinch practice, which I probably enjoy more than most because I feed off of the discomfort of my opposition feeling disturbed by the proximity.

Wednesday

Muay Thai class

This was a basic sequence review class, with a focus on doing them at a high level of intensity. I thought it was a good time to clean up some details that could be polished more. It's also always fun to work on front kicks with a bigger person, though "bigger person" from my perspective is the vast majority of the people at the gym, so it's not the most meaningful qualifier.

Thursday

Muay Thai class

The guest kru was back to teaching this class, probably since it seems like the competitive fight he was going to have soon was canceled. We started out working on seemingly practical sequences before building them up into conditioning challenges. It was a fine time, though.
