As previous.
Monday
Muay Thai class
The guest kru was running a fundamentals class. We worked on a few different ways of stringing together some basic strikes, for a pretty fine review to kick off the new year. I was a little shaky early on from the holiday breaks, but I seemed to get back into it decently enough by the class's end.
Tuesday
Muay Thai class
This class focused on front kick offense and defense. It's always nice to work on initiation tools that aren't jabs, and I've never been quiet on here about liking working on my defense. I broke down my partner's stamina, too, which is always a nice bonus. A good day.
Wedneday
Muay Thai double class
This class was back-and-forth head-to-head defense with the guest kru. It was quite practical stuff, especially by his typical standards. I was partnered with a left-handed person, which made for good practice to ensure I was reacting to their movements rather than acting out of habit. Following that up was a class of some light sparring. I went in with a goal to land a body-level lead hook each round, which I achieved. It was fun and good stuff, all in all.
Thursday
Muay Thai class
This was a boxing and knee strike class. It was a good time, as expected, and I was pleased at how well I handled doing alternating knee strikes without grabbing, after the general clumsiness I had had earlier in the week. We finished up with some high volume elbow strikes for a bit of stamina burn, which was funny to me since I find that's one of the least effort-requiring strikes, but I guess it's more aimed at people who aren't used to getting body rotation into other strikes.
