My mind is a bit fried at the moment, so I'm posting this recap instead of going to training today.

Monday

Muay Thai class (x2)

The guest kru's class was a hodgepodge this day. We did some extended offensive sequence drills and some clinch practice, all of which was fine enough. It felt unfocused, but sometimes, that's how fighting goes. The second class was back-and-forth head-to-head defense drills, working on using hands against legs and legs against hands. That's a good shake-up from the natural tendency to use the same limbs as a range management shortcut, and these sorts of drills are always fun anyway. We finished up with some light freestyle boxing, which was a nice capstone, and I achieved my personal goal to land at least three hits to the body with my lead hand each round. A productive and satisfying day overall.

Tuesday

Muay Thai class

This class started out with some low kicks for warm-up before transitioning to drills practicing defense and countering. I think I had some lingering fatigue from the previous day, because it felt like I was being more straight-legged in my stance than usual, but I was able to correct that once I noticed it.

Wednesday

Muay Thai class (x2)

The krus switched things up this day, with the regular kru doing the first class and the guest kru doing the second. The first was all about setting up and building off of lead leg front kicks, which is something I find especially useful personally since I think that's one of my better weapons. The second was a lot of light sparring with various restrictions: boxing only, legs only, attack vs. defender, and clinch only. It was a cool way to get in some specialty focus against live resistance.

Thursday

Muay Thai class

This class was mostly a ten-spot drill station gauntlet rotation. I was dead-ass tired by the end of it, though I was still rocking back a significantly-larger padholder in the station doing alternating front kicks near the end of my gauntlet, so I must've still had some gas left in me. Afterwards, we finished up with some drills working on boxing into elbow strikes, which I'm always down for.
