It's been good to have my martial arts training as a grounding element in tumultuous times.
Monday
Muay Thai class
This was a fundamentals review class, partly to help a new person get started. I was in a trio with them, too, for extra help. They seemed to listen and tried to apply the advice I was giving, which is always welcome. A fine way to start their time at this gym.
Tuesday
Muay Thai class
This class was about grinding out long sequences to build stamina. Something felt off with my kicks, though I couldn't quite place it, so it's possible it was just in my head. My hands were feeling nice, at least.
Wednesday
Muay Thai class
The guest kru taught a class focused on defending and countering low kicks aimed at the lead leg. Among the niche stuff he likes to focus on, this was a pretty practical topic. It was also a treat that I got to partner with one of the competitive fighters, after what's felt like a long streak of not doing so, so I got to grind harder than usual of late. Fun stuff all around.
Thursday
Muay Thai class
This class was about building up extended offensive output. Honestly, I don't have much more to say about it; not that it was bad, just that my mind wasn't in the moment for it. On the plus side, I might be getting into a position to start double-classing again soon, and I'm hyped for that, since it'd mean getting to work with another different coach. Not that my usual ones are problems, but I like getting to try some different stuff at times to see if any of it clicks well with me.
