I decided to press through with training despite my dings, and I feel like that was the right choice.

Monday

Muay Thai class

This was a boxing day, making it a good test for my injured hand. There was still a pinch every time I hit with it, but otherwise, I was able to power through and still bring the impact. I think that's a sign that I should be fine to keep training with it as long as I wear a bandage under my handwraps to protect the scabs from abrasion.

Tuesday

Muay Thai class

This was a fundamentals day for the most part, aside from finishing up with some spinning backfist practice for a bit of flair. My hand was still a bother, but it was minor enough that I think it's safe to consider it pretty much just a pain tolerance matter going forward, so I'm going to stop mentioning it constantly. That said, the only other notable thing I had about this session was some complaining about arrogant newbies, which I'd rather not do.

Wednesday

Muay Thai class

This was a head-to-head back-and-forth defense day, at long last. Excepting myself, pretty much everyone else was either a competitive fighter or a newbie teenager, so the kru had me leads the teens while the fighters worked with each other. I tried giving them some individual tips where I could, though it was a toss-up whether the other person was listening to what I said. At the very least, though, it was nice to get back to hitting people directly, even if lightly (because their defensive technique mostly sucked, on an objective level).

Thursday

Muay Thai class

This was a front kick kind of day, whether punches and front kicks or just front kicks with more front kicks. My padwork partner kept backing up as my kicks were incoming, seemingly due to not fancying getting rocked back each time they tried to stand their ground, which was mildly annoying but also a reasonable check that I was staying balanced and powerful without over-committing.

Saturday

Muay Thai class

I went in for an extra session thanks to having a free morning, and I was glad I did, because it was a class focused on elbow and knee strikes. Definitely a fun class to get in on, with the added bonus of getting to work with an experienced partner who I vibe with well. A nice way to finish the week, since the kru mentioned she was hesitant to do these sorts of drills in the regular classes since there were too many beginners these days who she didn't feel could yet handle them safely.
