This was a week.
Monday
Muay Thai class
Back to the usual stamina-focused Mondays. This time, it was about repeated strikes from the same leg. I worked with a newbie who was willing to heed advice, which was a pleasure, as always. We finished up with some high-volume knee strikes and round kicks. It was a physically-demanding session, in a good way.
Tuesday
Muay Thai class
This class focused on stringing short sequences together into longer ones. It was a good test for maintaining form through fatigue. The kru had asked me before the class if I'd be available to help with competitive fighter prep, which I was down for, but there weren't enough other trainers available for her liking, so she had them do head-to-head work instead. Disappointing, but alas.
Wednesday
Muay Thai class
This was a rare class focused heavily on elbow strikes. I may not be a quick twitch athlete, but my bones are chunky.
Thursday
Muay Thai class
This class worked on defense and countering. I got shuffled around a bit by the kru, eventually ending up in a trio with an experienced partner (who did compete a few times but seems to have moved on from doing that anymore) and a newbie. I had a good time with it, and it was nice that the former-fighter said afterwards that my front kicks were surprisingly nasty (in a good way).
