Workout Recap - Week of July 29, 2018

Well, I'm late with this update again, but I have a reason for it this time. I've been preparing for my fourth and (hopefully) final trip in what has been a rather tumultuous year. I haven't even done anything yet to commemorate this site's anniversary! Nor have I done any miniature painting in about seven months, and my recipes and reviews have both been lacking of late, too. On the plus side, though, I've been pursuing certain interests in that silence, and I'm hopeful that I'll soon have a special cross-promotion with another (far more successful) blog. Stay tuned!

Sunday

Type: Pass/Fail

Shoulder-width Handstand Push Ups - 1 set of 12 (pass)

Uneven Pull Ups - 1 set of 8, each side (pass)

Pistol Squats, both hands behind me - 1 set of 6, each side (pass)

Bonus: 5 burpees

This as basically another maintenance workout, in all honesty. It's been a little hard to get motivated to do more, knowing that I'll soon be on the road again. I know that's not the right attitude to have, but to err is human.

Wednesday

Type: Pass/Fail

Shoulder-width Handstand Push Ups - 2 sets of 12 (pass)

Uneven Pull Ups - 2 sets of 8, each side (pass)

Bonus: 5 breath isometric one-armed dead hangs (each side), 10 bridges

I did try to push myself with this. It's a little disappointing to limited to only two sets of eight uneven pull ups when it wasn't all that long ago that I was getting two sets of ten, but I suppose the better way to look at that is to be glad that I've stayed within about eighty percent of where I was despite the difficulties with doing the workouts that I want while traveling.

Thursday

Type: As Fast As Possible

8 sets of:

5 Pull Ups

10 Push Ups

15 Prisoner Squats

Time = 9:00

Bonus: 10 sit ups

On a more positive note, this one was actually a pretty decent time. There's still been some regression, I'll admit. However, it's pretty close to the +/-10% margin that I tend to consider as regular variability. In other words, I'm only showing signs of being far off from where I was when I'm really pushing myself, which is something to take heart in.

Saturday

Type: As Fast As Possible

100 Burpees

Time = 12:30

Bonus: 2 sets of 6 chin ups

It's not my usual time for doing this challenge, and I don't care. I wanted to get it in before going on another trip. Another less than stellar performance, even coming up short of what I did when I was traveling for the last one of these, but that's alright. Sometimes, the mere act of doing something can be accomplishment enough.
