Workout Recap - Week of December 20, 2020

Still a bit topsy-turvy, but I did get back up to four workouts for this week. Even with all that, though, given how 2020 has gone for millions of people, I've been able to keep things together for the most part. I'm looking forward to turning the page into 2021, but I'm still aiming to close strong for this year.

Monday

Type: As Fast As Possible

3 sets of:

21/15/9 Plyometric Lunges (each side)

21/15/9 Diamond Push Ups

21/5/9 Straight Leg Raises

Time = 4:45

Bonus: 21 breath isometric flex hang

Bringing a clock back into things, and it's showing that I'm still holding ground. In this case, that's a win.

Wednesday

Type: Pass/Fail

Close Pull Ups - 3 sets of 6 (pass)

Shoulder-width Handstand Push Ups - 3 sets of 6 (pass)

Bonus: 25 prisoner squats

I'm trying to break the habit of reverting to single set workouts for these routines. It's not that I think they're necessarily less effective, but rather that I don't like the psychological processes I'm going through when I do that. It's fine if it's something that I've got planned in advance, but I don't want it to turn into a crutch.

Friday

Type: Pass/Fail

Pistol Squats - 3 sets of 5, each side (pass)

Diamond Push Ups - 3 sets of 15 (pass)

Bonus: 2 sets of 6 plyometric push ups

Now this is more like it. Fair numbers across three sets, and an explosive bonus to boot.

Saturday

Type: Pass/Fail

Closing Bridges - 3 sets of 3 (pass)

Hanging Straight Leg Raises - 3 sets of 6 (pass)

Bonus: 2 sets of 3 two-way suicide jumps

A second straight day of keeping things up feels good. Well, aside from my hamstrings giving a bit of protest, but that'll get better with time. All in all, I'm satisfied with how I finished out this week.
