I've been dealing with some depression for the last week or two. I'm sure it'll pass in time as it usually does, but for the moment, it's not a great state of mind to be in. The powerlessness of being aware of it and yet unable to do anything direct to change it should be infuriating, but I'm just numb for now. Small miracles. I had been trying to push back up to five workouts for this week, but I must've slept awkwardly on Friday night because my lower back was bizarrely sore on Saturday. In any case, while I played things safely because of that, I did manage to follow through on my intention to add more variety to what I was doing. I'm expecting that trend to continue. I didn't aim to do anything fancy to cap off the year. Just finishing on pace was good enough, in my eyes. 2020 was certainly a trying year, and while that will continue into 2021, I think there's reason to be optimistic about turning things around and getting back on track this year, both on a personal level and on societal/global level.
