I feel like I'm adjusting well to the increased number of classes; I'm still getting tired, but it feels like a manageable level of fatigue. Might start doing more soon, though whether that's more double-classing or a potential return to sparring depends on how some other things work out for me elsewhere.

Monday

Muay Thai class (x2)

The first class was a stamina-grinder, starting out with some fun elbow and knee work before getting into doing lots of kicks. We even did a drill weaving together a total of 110 round kicks with 110 push-ups at the kru's count for each, and I was pleased to keep up with it fully. Good stuff. The second class was boxing, doing more stamina-burn and trying to keep up movement while punching (and fatigued). I was pretty dead by the end of it, but I think I was still able to last longer than I'd expected I would, so that's potentially a good sign of improvements to come.

Tuesday

Muay Thai class

This was a head-to-head defense day, which I always enjoy. We started out with scripted basic punch sequences ending in a kick, eventually building towards continuing offense into a six-strike sequence. The mental aspect of remember the longer scripts was non-trivial, so I got a little bit of spontaneous reaction training at having to keep myself safe whenever a partner might do something unexpected. Frankly, that segued nicely into finishing up with some freestyle back-and-forth rounds. It was fun and useful stuff all around.

Wednesday

Muay Thai class (x2)

There was a guest kru visiting this day, so we started out with an eight-spot drill station gauntlet rotation (which I felt like I held up fairly well for, even if I discount the little compliments I got from both the guest kru and my usual one after I finished at each of their stations as simply empty words of general encouragement), followed by the guest kru leading us on some padwork drills of atypical-but-practical sequences. It was a nice change of pace. The second class was all light sparring, with everyone getting to do at least one round with the guest kru. I was obviously out-skilled by them, but had it been a competitive fight round, I don't think it would've been scored any worse than 9-10 against me. I think I took only one hit that might've been significant if it had been real, and I managed to land a few undefended shots of my own (including one that might've been significant if I'd been going full-force, too), which feels like a fairly solid performance by my standards. All in all, it was quite a fun day, and it also gave me some confidence in my stamina starting to adjust well to double-classing again.

Thursday

Muay Thai class

This was a double-kick kind of day. We did some in isolation and some with an amount of lead-in. I was working in a trio with one person who I would normally write off as a person who doesn't care about improving, but the third person was trying to help them, so I wasted more time than I care to remember trying to at least back up the sensible things they were saying. A big ego in a small mind is a drain on everyone around them.
